Editorial Review for Bellanotte – by Donna Tabbert Long

In Short
Its name means "beautiful night" and beauty is everywhere at this resplendent spot. Beautiful people (dressed to the nines), beautiful location (directly across from Target Center) and beautifully designed room (dark walnut woodwork, butter-soft leather chairs, glassed in fire pits). A trendy crowd hangs by the onyx-topped bar, but the best dining seats are in the sophisticated, octagon-shaped atrium. The stylish menu ranges from Italian classics to trendy American fare, including the braised-for-hours osso buco.

Insider Tips

Know Before You Go

For late-night conversation, stay away from tables near the bar. People-watching is great, but the music can be loud.

Where to Sit

For pizza lovers, there's seating around the stone oven; noshers should check out lounge areas with sexy leather banquettes. In summer, a spacious landscaped patio is a nice option.

Notable Wine List

Besides magnificent martinis at the bar, check out the snazzy 14-foot wine tower loaded with well-chosen wine.

Lunch Spot

Lunch is cheaper (most items are less than $10).

Bar Scene

The lounge is open until 1am Mondays to Thursdays, until 2am Fridays and Saturdays and until 11pm Sundays.

I plan all of the corporate dinners and events for an international restaurant chain. So I am privy to the ins and outs of the industry and have had comprehensive experience with other establishments and this restaurant is at the top of my list. On numerous occasions I have utilized Bellanotte's private dining program and every time my expectations have been exceeded. The staff is impeccable. Well trained, knowledgeable and always anticipating my guests needs. The food is top-notch, and the servers will always make the best suggestions based on your palate. Their signature filet rivals those from any steakhouse in town and the sea-food is always jet-fresh. I have hosted group events in both of their back private dining rooms as well as the "atrium" area. The event space is breathtaking no matter where you dine. To add to the ambiance they even have a live 3-piece jazz band in the restaurant! Parking for my guests is always a concern and it's breeze here as there is always valet service available. I have a demanding group that expects nothing but the best and that is what Bellanotte consistently delivers.

Pros: Exceptional staff, beautiful restaurant, great Wine list and remarkable menu

Cons: Some of the drinks are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

I went to Bellanotte one night for something different to eat and for different experience. They have excellent food and great customer service. The food was very good. I would recommend this place to others that want to go somewhere for some good food.
