Editorial Review for Crave – by Stephanie Davila
In Short
The wide-open restaurant's earth-toned decor sets a relaxing-yet-celebratory vibe fore the well-heeled mall shoppers and destination diner audience. During lunch, ladies who lunch catch up with friends over organic salads, inventive sandwiches, seasonal soups and more. By dinner, health-conscious socialites pile in to nosh on New American cuisine such as free-range steaks, flatbread pizzas with organic cheese and fresh pastas. To round out the meal, an elaborate wine list offers over 125 labels, many of which can be ordered by the glass or bottle.

The food is okay but you can definitely find better, especially for the price, in the Twin Cities. The service was lousy both times I visited Crave. During my second trip to Crave, my friend's glass of water shattered on her the minute she picked up the glass. The water and 5 other staff members, who saw this happen, never apologized or even tried to make it up to my friend. When my friend asked if Crave would buy her a drink, since she was soaking wet, she was flat out told '"no." The owner happened to be in that evening and he ended up getting involved at our table's request. He was even worse than the waiter. Again, never even apologized for the incident, was not friendly or even remotely polite and treated us like we were scamming the joint. With an owner like that, it's no wonder the service leaves much to be desired.
Pros: convenient location, decent concept
Cons: worst customer service I have ever experienced

Finally, jazz in the west metro. We are musically deprived out here. I hope it continues or even expands.
