Editorial Review for D'Amico Cucina – by Donna Tabbert Long
In Short
Expect airy, subdued elegance here, from the framed antique engravings and crystal chandeliers to whitewashed walls that reflect an alluring sheen (from crushed marble in the paint). Quiet, comfort and classiness abound--the sophisticated clientele expect no less. Top-quality ingredients, refined combinations and preparations that take time (rich reductions, simmered-for-hours stocks) set these plates apart. Revel in a rich appetizer of mushroom-topped scallops or an entree of roasted duck breast in vibrant cider sauce.

Yes there is Mecca, but in the world of Italian food I bring my rug out and bow to Butler Square daily. Best tip is to sit at the bar and let the wait staff deliver the potent cocktail of great people, food, and ambience on you. Splitting the tasting menu is the best value in the Twin Cities. You can never go wrong here. Great Italian wine, (take a cab if you are sharing the wine flights), wonderful thin crust pizza and the lobster still amazing after all these years. Bar seating is twice as fun because you get to know the heart of the restaurant, Taco, Junior, Dan and the like. They make you feel like you have come home and that house has flawless food. We love you guys.
Pros: Want to go to Tuscany?
Cons: it only lasts for about two hours

Without reservation, this is the best restaurant in town. The service is prompt, friendly and answered all of my questions. The food was AMAZING. I recommend the lobster gnocchi for a meal and the pizza/flatbread appetizer. The ambience is classic comfortable. The piano music on the weekend provides an added romantic/entertaining ambience. I would go to D'amica Cucina every weekend if I could afford it.
Pros: Special occasion dining, food
Cons: expensive
