Wendy's dog house was recommended to me by a family member who is a veterinary technician. I took my lab mix to Wendy's for the second time recently for a full overhaul - spa treatment, de-shed treatment, nails, teeth... the whole works. When I first saw my dog I was pleased, but as I was paying the $92 I owed (ouch!) one of the workers came up and sprayed my dog's neck with perfume without consulting me. Nobody had ever mentioned spraying perfume on the dog as being part of the grooming, and I was most displeased about this. If dogs are sprayed with perfume, they will hate the way they smell, and they will do everything to smell more like their doggy selves again. Lo and behold, two days after I brought my dog there, she went out for a potty break -- she pooped and immediately starting rolling herself all in her own feces - disgusting! (My dog has never done this before, so I'm quite sure it was to rid herself of the perfume's scent.) I was very unhappy about having to bathe my dog so shortly after bringing her in to be professionally groomed. The frosting on the cake was this: As I was bathing my dog, there was TONS of fur coming out of her coat, even though she'd apparently had this de-shedding treatment just two days prior. I was informed that the de-shed was supposed to remove 90% of the shedding hair, but as I was brushing my dog there was handful upon handful coming out. User beware - if you take your dog to Wendy's, make it clear to the staff that you DON'T want perfume sprayed on your dog, otherwise it will inevitably roll in poo, making the whole visit to the groomers completely pointless. Also - for those of you out there with a double-coated dog like mine -- I wouldn't recommend spending the extra cash on the de-shedding treatment, as it doesn't seem to be worth it. I doubt I will return there again.

Pros: friendly

Cons: expensive, not a good value

First time I took my large breed dog there it was terrific. Second time, it took almost all day as there was a geriatric dog that needed more attention. Understandable, but I would have preferred rescheduling rather than make me and my dog wait all day. Third time, however, he was done with a ful spa treatment in an hour! Absolutely unheard of! When I picked him up he has all kinds of razor burns and small cuts on his inner legs, abdomin and private areas. After finally reaching Wendy, she apologized for a staff member and offered a slight discount next time. But there will be no next time!
